Many rivers in the Miramichi system have been classified as "catch and release" areas but much of the Little Southwest is not one of these areas - here we do promote "Catch and release" practices and a guest may wish to fish in a "catch and release" area however releasing a catch and choosing which area to fish is strictly up to each angler. This past (2011) season, the numbers of fish seen in the Miramichi River system and reported at the counting stations have broken records and this bodes very well for anglers who will fish the Miramichi in 2012. Salmon fishing on the Little "Sou-west" may be an "in-the-woods" experience but the hospitality and cuisine are definitely not! Daily maid service and the quality and variety of the menu are carefully attended to. Seafood, including lobster, cod, scallops, haddock and salmon are expected in New Brunswick and are beautifully presented. So are beef, pork and poultry entrées. All pastries and breads are baked in our well-appointed kitchen. Food writer, Sylvia Bashline says, "The Miramichi Inn is a 'five pound' camp and even if I did not like salmon fishing I'd go for the desserts."

The layout of the Miramichi Inn has been designed with guest comfort and convenience in mind. From the well located and comfortably furnished rooms, the main lodge sitting room complete with full log fireplace, the convenient "wet room" where guests returning from fishing can comfortably change out of their wet gear (there is even a full sized pool table in the wet room), to the immaculate dining area and small office which exists for those who "insist" on staying in contact with the office back home! All that you might require or wish for is here!

Accommodations at our Lodge can best be summarized using the CANADA SELECT evaluation which places us in the FOUR STAR rating category - sharing the top spot in the province with only four other locations. (Canada Select is the dominant accommodation rating program in Canada).

Also, and probably more important, is that the Miramichi Inn has been granted a "FIVE CHECK" hospitality rating, which is a rating based on guests themselves providing an evaluation of the lodgings and meals. This is the HIGHEST POSSIBLE RATING and can be defined as "Exceptional standards of hospitality and personalized service -- a total dedication to guest comfort and service."
