Dear Susan,
It is next to impossible to put into words how much the three of us enjoyed our stay at your Inn the last week of June to salmon fish on the Little Southwest. It was nothing short of spectacular!
We have been to several fishing establishments on the Miramichi River and we can tell you none compare to the Miramichi Inn for warmth, friendliness, food and just making guests feel welcome. The Inn is not anything like those other establishments for it has a certain "je ne sais quoi" that you cannot find elsewhere in New Brunswick.
Please give our best to our two guides Stanley and Bud whose expertise on choice of fly and how to fish the pools led to hooking and landing many salmon like the one shown above.
The very best,
Herman Van Fleet
Hap McCall
Bob McCall
P.S. If a prospective client ever needs a reference from someone who has experienced the Inn firsthand, we'd be more than happy to speak with them.

Hi John,
A quick note to say how much we enjoyed our stay last week. It was great fun, there were fish to be caught, the people were great and the meals and accommodations were first class! Thanks for everything and all the best to the rest of the gang and the dogs! Hope to see you again soon.

John - I just wanted to tell you how much my father and I enjoyed our salmon fishing trip to Miramichi Inn this past spring. The food (Susan), the accommodation and your whole operation just makes me wish we would have stayed longer. Dad hooked and landed his first ever Salmon on a real Salmon river and at an estimated 15-16 pounds, it is was something he still talks about. Stan was just great to us as a guide and really, it was the ultimate in fun. I know nobody can promise the kind of fishing we had but in only 11 hours fishing we were into at least 11 fish - Wow!

Dear Andre and Susan:
Just a brief note to thank you for the quality experience we enjoyed on our recent visit to your Inn.
We thoroughly enjoyed the great fishing, our outstanding guide and Susan's superb cuisine. The service and physical accommodations were excellent, and the view overlooking the Miramachi River is beautiful. Our stay could not have been more relaxing.
Although we have just returned we are looking forward to our next visit.
Thank you again!

Andre,
Thank you and all your staff, including Susan, Patrice, with his fabulous Cuisine,
Peter P. and of course our guide for the past three days Marty S., who made sure my
87 year old Dad, my spouse Claudine and me all caught salmon. These 4 to 6 pound keepers
are being readied for planking, as we speak.
Thank you so much for the way you all looked after my parents and the rest of my, sometimes, rambunctious party (no names mentioned) We will all be back at the first opportunity.

Dear Andre:
Russ and I enjoyed our fishing at the Inn. The hospitality and food were excellent. Martin is a first-rate guide, I am sure you are happy to have him. To a few novice atlantic salmon fisherman our days at the Miramichi Inn were a truly wonderful introduction to the sport. I am sure it could become an addiction! My belated thanks to everyone.
Regards,
Jim Blomquist
André,
Thanks for a great trip. I can't tell you what a great time we had. You run a wonderful well engineered machine! Thanks again for making our trip so special!
Dave Glover, New Mexico
André,
I had another wonderful time at the lodge. I checked my daily journal upon my return and hooked salmon added up to 30!!! About 20 to the boat. The largest...40 inches and 38 inches. Also, my thanks to you, Susan and Patrice for taking such good care of me!

Dear Mr. Andre and
Susan Godin
after a wonderful journey we finally arrived at home.
All together we had a splendid trip, but we three agreed that Miramichi Inn was
the best! We found everything first class: the accommodations, the superb
meals, the lovely landscape! You all were so nice and welcomed us so heartfully!
Frank insists not to forget the fine salmon we caught.
We found everything so wonderful, that we would like to spend a few days in
Miramichi Inn again in Spring.
When we left you, we went to the region of Toronto and spent 2 days in Elora. We
fished for trouts in the Grand River as you told us. There are many trouts, but
hard fishing since the fishes are very smart. Fishing is allowed just with
barbeless hooks and at the most places it is catch and release. We will
recommend Miramichi In to all people we know who want to go fishing in Canada!
Manuel wants me to send special greetings to Patrice, with whom he battled at
the billard table.
Best regards to you all,
Sincerely yours,
Dr. Frank Berfelde
Hi Andre and Susan,
I just wanted to take a minute to thank you for the wonderful time I had at
Miramichi Inn recently. Everything was great, the accommodations, the food (I
didn’t thank Patrice properly so have included a note for him), the guide, the
other guests and yes, even the fishing.
The facilities are beyond doubt the best I’ve seen at any sporting lodge, you
and Susan should be very proud of the job you do. The food , also was
outstanding, everything was perfect.
The guide was OK, I guess. Just kidding, I think Jason is an outstanding young
man. It was a great pleasure to spend the week with him on the river. His
knowledge of the river, the salmon and flies was a great value but beyond that,
his sense of humor and openness really added to the quality of the experience.
I also really enjoyed fishing with David, I can see why you enjoy his company so
much. I neglected to get his address, so could you send it to me when you get
the chance. Before I left, we talked about possibly meeting next year for fish
together with you (if Jason is available) and I’d like to keep in touch with
him.
Again, thanks very much for everything. I hope I can come to visit again next
summer. You all take car and I’ll be in touch.
Sincerely,
Larry Little, PA
Dear André,
I want to thank you and Susan for the lovely holiday I had last week. Your lodge
has a beautiful setting for any fishing trip and the Little Southwest
must surely rank as one of the world’s best salmon rivers.
Gerry was a first rate guide. His knowledge of the river is phenomenal and his
enthusiasm for the sport is contagious.
I will definitely be coming back next year. I would like to come in June. When
you indicated that there is a run of large bright salmon. I would also
appreciate it if you could provide me with information on the New Brunswick
regulations with respect to when teenagers are allowed to hunt and what courses
the must pass. I would like to take my son on one of your combination salmon
fishing and grouse hunting trips.
I wish you all the best for the upcoming fall season. One again thanks for
everything.
John F. Graham, Ontario
Dear
André,
I would like to take the opportunity to express my thanks and praise for the
finesse fishing experience I can imagine. Our expectations were very high and
you exceeded all of them. Lynn, Andy, Mark, and myself are all anxiously looking
forward to returning next year.
From the accommodations, to the food, and of course to the fishing, the
Miramichi Inn is truly in a class by itself. It is to you great credit that we
fell both at home and as cherished friends throughout our stay. Please extend
our heartfelt thinks to all of your staff.
Sincerely yours,
Brian J. O’Meara, NH
P.S. We cooked the last of our grilse this past weekend. Outstanding!!
To Whom it May Concern:
I would like to personally let you know that I recommend Andre Godin’s
Auberge Miramichi Inn for its first class home cooked meals cooked with the
special personal touch of a master chef,(Patrice), by Susan Godin spending many hours in
the kitchen each day.
The Inn has luxurious accommodations and I felt like I was at home living in the
lap of luxury.
The Miramichi Inn has an excellent, thorough, attentive and professional staff
who know your name and attend to your every need whatever it may be, twenty
hours a day.
My fishing guide, Jerry Stewart, was one of the most professional and enjoyable
guides I have ever fished with on any river here or in Europe.
Andre and Susan’s place really made my fishing trip and I shall return to this
beautiful piece of heaven.
Best of all, is Andre and Susan Godin’s company and friendship which I enjoy
tremendously and hope they visit me at my home soon so I can repay their many
favors.
I believe you will make a mistake if you don’t stay at Auberge Miramichi Inn
with Andre and Susan Godin at least once in your life so you can really taste
the outdoors as it should be experienced.
Very truly yours,
James I. Holland, WA
Dear Andre,
The sun set ruby red in the western sky during the last cast of my trip to the
Little Southwest. The whiskers went down in a splash and I had the fight I had
come looking for and more. The thrill of catching a fresh female salmon of over
31 inches was incredible and it will last a lifetime. She jumped five times and
peeled line of my reel quicker than I could imagine she would. The power of
these fish is incredible.
I learned that salmon fishing is a gentleman’s sport (or
gentlewoman’s). The courtesy and respect that the guides showed the guests and
the residents of New Brunswick gave the visitors was impressive.
Your lodge is top notch, the food great and the scencry magnificent. The respect
that you, Susan and the guides show towards the outdoors will keep me coming
back to New Brunswick. Your attention to details (i.e. pacing me up with such a
nice fishing partner) did not go unnoticed.
The culmination of the trip was holding the salmon in my hands and reviving her,
feeling her breath and feeling the eggs inside her, and then feeling the splash
as she rocketed out into the dark pool and upstream to continue her journey. I
have always released trout, but giving back an Atlantic Salmon is a feeling that
will never go away. Thank you for the opportunity to begin this wonderful voyage
chasing these fish.
Feel free to use my name as a reference.
Sincerely,
Dr. Andrew J. Sacco, NY

Dear Andre
You and Susan are among the most gracious and most generous hosts I’ve met.
Your lodge is absolutely first class – Patrice’s marvelous recipes; your
friendly, helpful and talented guides Xavier, Peter and Glenn : the
accommodations including the charming lady who tended the rooms, and of course
Molly and Megan and Rebel and Cruiser and the rest of your Irish children. I
would not hesitate to recommend the Miramichi Inn to any angler or bird hunter.
I have just received the photos back from the film lab and some of them are not
to bad (Rebel managed to keep his mouth shut. I’m having several slides
printed and will send you the prints when they come in.
I’ve done the first draft of my story for Sporting Classics and hope to polish
it a bit over the weekend before sending it to the editor, Chuck Weschler. You
never know about these things, but I hope it runs in the fall.
Again, Andre, many thanks for a splendid visit. Remember, with Bob and Susie
Poole living a stone’s throw from here, you and Susan have a double reason to
visit Virginia.
Sincerely,
John Ross
